Quantcast

A Poem for You

UPTICK

We were sitting there, and
I made a joke about how
it doesn’t dovetail: time,
one minute running out
faster than the one in front
it catches up to.
That way, I said,
there can be no waste.
Waste is virtually eliminated.

To come back for a few hours to
the present subject, a painting,
looking like it was seen,
half turning around, slightly apprehensive,
but it has to pay attention
to what’s up ahead: a vision.
Therefore poetry dissolves in
brilliant moisture and reads us
to us.
A faint notion. Too many words,
but precious.

- John Ashbery

Pluto is no longer a planet. But Pluto still has feelings.

Pluto isn't a person, but Pluto has a heart.

    Plutian Love.

When the other planets stopped loving Pluto, Pluto was hurt.

    Love can hurt.

    Plutian Love.

Pluto still exists. Pluto can still love. Pluto loves music.

This is the music Pluto loves.

Pluto IS still a planet. It's not the other planets or even most people who "demoted" it; it's four percent of the International Astronomical Union, most of whom are not planetary scientists. Their decision was immediately opposed in a formal petition by an equal number of professional astronomers, who are working to get the demotion overturned.

    Great song!

no it isnt a planet im doing a report on this and found tons of info. no pluto isnt a planet or a moon. it is called a dwarf planet because in 2006 there were new qualifications for being a planet and pluto only worked with 2/3 of the guidelines people get with the program this was a freakin 4 years ago jeez
